Heart Care Programs Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation Cardiac Rehabilitation has been shown to be a safe effective treatment for people with heart disease and for those at high risk of developing heart disease.
Our program is designed for people who have myocardial infarction (heart attack), coronary artery bypass graft surgery or other cardiac surgery, angina pectoris, PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and stents), congestive heart failure, heart valve surgery, or other cardiac related programs.
The goals of Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation are to: 1. Improve your ability to function 2. Decrease the risk of future cardiac problems. 3. Assist you and your family in developing a healthy life style. 4. Provide your physician with pertinent information about your progress. 5. Facilitate a safe, confident return to work.
Exercise The exercise portion of this program starts approximately one week following discharge from the hospital. All exercise programs are developed for the individual participant based on their response to activity. Heart rhythms and blood pressures are monitored during exercise. Each patient uses a variety of modes for exercise in a group setting. This program can last for up to 12 weeks.
The Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation provides educational information about heart disease and its prevention on a daily basis during group sessions. All educational activities include family members.

Staff The staff of the Phase II program operate under the direction of Dr. Jack Gordon, medical director. Staff backgrounds vary and include an exercise physiologist, coronary care nurses, and registered dietician. Financial Considerations While payment for the program is an individual responsibility, most medical insurance policies provide coverage for cardiac rehabilitation. Call your insurance provider regarding your coverage.
Phase II and III Cardiac Rehabilitation Cardiac Rehabilitation has been shown to be a safe effective treatment for people with heart disease.
Our program is designed to recondition your heart after myocardial infarction (heart attack), coronary artery bypass graft surgery or other cardiac surgery, angina pectoris, PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and stents), congestive heart failure, and other cardiac related programs. Your physician will refer you to the program. Cardiac rehabilitation will establish a communication link between you and your doctor for information about your recovery.
The goals of Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation are to: 1. Improve your ability to return to daily activities. 2. Decrease the risk of future cardiac problems. 3. Assist you and your family in developing a healthy life style. 4. Provide your physician with pertinent information about your progress. 5. Facilitate a safe, confident return to work.

Assist you in maintaining a safe and effective exercise program, as well as the new lifestyle changes you have made. 3. Provide on-going supportive education on heart disease and its risk factors. 4. Build confidence to return you to a community or home exercise setting.
The Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation program is available three days per week following the completion of the Phase II program.
