The VRMC Foundation provides support and assistance to VRMC to best serve, allow and permit the medical center to perform its health delivery mission and to solicit support including funding and materials as may be desirable.
Some of the accomplishments of the VRMC Foundation over the last fifteen years include:
Raised over $1.5 million dollars for the renovating of the medical center's ER, Inpatient Rehab and Convalescent Center.
Involved more than 200 area reisdents with VRMC through the foundation and foundation committees.
“Host the annual Festival of Trees event which has raised more than $250,000 for various programs and departments for Virginia Regional Medical Center.”
Organized a coalition of health care and industry to help bring occupational health services to the East Iron Range.
Developed an ongoing series of wellness education seminars targeted to the general public with a goal of education and bringing them into VRMC. These seminars are videotaped and may be viewed on the local cable access channel.
Expanded VRMC marketing efforts through special events, seminars and celebrations.
Supported VRMC and SMDC with physician recruitment and retention through a variety of relationship building.
Increased level of volunteer support for VRMC by over 500 volunteer hours per year.
Instituted an annual Women's Wellness Day which offers a variety of health and wellness topics of interest to women.
