Liz Prebich Women's Center
The Virginia Regional Medical Center is very pleased to be able to offer area women medical services in comfortable and private surroundings in one location. The old emergency room was converted into a private area for women including the following services: mammography, DXA Scan, stereotactic biopsy and ultrasound. We are proud to be able to offer same-day, state-of-the-art breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. A mammogram and biopsy can be performed the same day to lessen wait time and reduce anxiety for women. In memory of Liz Prebich, special touches that we think Liz would have liked have been included such as a tea cart, a rose logo, and private waiting area.
About Liz Prebich Liz Prebich, former County Commissioner, was a well respected person in this community. She was a leader in many areas and in her years as a Country Commissioner she affected many lives for the better. Liz battled breast cancer for 13 years and was a fighter until the end. While she worked with an oncologist in Duluth, she utilized many of VRMC’s services during the years and her family worked with Healthstar Home Care services at the end of Liz’s illness. She showed women how to fight and that nobody is immune from the terrible disease of cancer.
